Welcome to Crossroads Youth Ministries
While we provide lots of opportunities for the teens to hang out, just us, we want to integrate into the life and family of the church overall. Worship with the congregation is an important part of learning to be a part of the larger church body. So, come on and join us this Sunday morning (10:15 a.m.) and evening (6:00 p.m.) for a great service with the whole church family. You can always find the teens hanging out up front, catching all the action. (Front row seats are always best!)
Our Youth Ministry exists to reach students for Christ by modeling Kingdom Love to them, to teach them God's call to holiness, accountability, discipleship, and transformation. The youth are challenged to grow into ministry and to honor God with their lives completely.
Our activities are driven by our desire to let the youth explore and discover spiritual answers and church family life for themselves. We don't let the youth flounder--our volunteers provide guidance and spiritual mentoring every step of the way. Our volunteers don't just "work with" the youth--they build relationships that help both the youth and the volunteer grow spiritually and emotionally. Because relationships are central to everything we do, our volunteers are carefully selected and invest countless hours of time and prayer into our students.
OUR MINISTRY STYLE
Church doesn't have to be boring, irrelevant, or old-fashioned! From "Sunday School" to small groups to Sunday morning worship or XRoads PM, youth are involved with learning opportunities, growth opportunities, and worship opportunities often, not just once a week. Students who attend faithfully are given multiple opportunities to not only to connect with God to connect with one another. We find that the students who dive in and take a risk to make relationships with each other and to take a risk to learn about loving God are the ones who find that Youth Ministry is worth every hour spent. Our youth pastor says that if youth group is boring "you're boring." Translation--you get out of it, what you put into it! God has something awesome in store for all of us if we will come hungry to learn, and ready to be a part of His family. We can lively discussions about topics that matter every day. Questions are always welcome, even when the answers aren't simple.
Our teens meet every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. in our youth wing in the lower level of the church. Through the school year our 7th and 8th grade students meet in the Jr. High Room with their teacher Brian Berge. The Sr. High Students, grades 9-12 meet in the Sr. High room for a time of discussion and Bible Study with Pastor Ben. This is a meaningful time of discussion and instruction as our students connect to begin their week. During the summer months, the two classes combine in the Sr. High room and chill together and in the "off" months to keep things "on" together in Christ.
Throughout the school year, our youth group coordinates with our church wide Wednesday night schedule of ministry called "Family Faith Night." We meet in cycles that you can follow on our church calendar. We provide a simple supper between 5:30-6:15 p.m. and Youth Group begins at 6:30 p.m. and goes until 7:45 p.m. Our teens meet in the Sr. High room for this important midweek time of fellowship, communication, Bible Study and connection to each other and connection in the Word of God. Be sure to check the youth group calendar so you can see other nights and ways that we're going to stay connected through small groups and events.
Teen camps and retreats
Everyone, from time to time, needs to “get away from it all.” Each winter we hold an annual retreat. This is retreat is designed to foster leadership training and community building, and it’s mission is for students who call Crossroads their home church and youth group. We reserve outreach for other events and believe that this annual event is a unique opportunity for our group to connect and grow in love!
Each summer there is also a teen camp offered by our district (between 50-60 surrounding Nazarene Churches). This is for students in grades 7-12...trust us, you don’t want to miss it...Great speakers, Great music, zip line, low ropes, fishing, archery, floor hockey, racquetball, volleyball, slip n slide, ultimate Frisbee, Olympic sized pool, and more.

Students in grades 9-12 then have the opportunity to advance to a regional level of competition held on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in the Boston, Massachusetts area in March.
